Episode 329 Review

Segments

Woman's Art Expo: The recap of the segment was very good. It had a good compilation of content from the actual event.

Favorite Memories: This was a great segment as senior year is winding down. It was a new, fresh idea that had a sentimental value to the audience.

Sports: I finally liked sports changing it up. The interviews gave sports a much less generic approach.

Finish the Lyrics: A good segment as always, very entertaining to see people not know the words.

Musician of the Week: It was necessary to keep this segment as a continuation, but it drags on a bit too long and is choppy with film quality.

Guitar Concert Review: This segment should have had more video or picture content. Once the concert is over, I want to see what happened at the concert, so video content could have done that for me.

Episode 328 Review

Segments:

Hosts: Sabrina and Mariah were very good. They were composed and were funny with some of their transitions.

Guitar Ad: The ad was well done. The background music really helped along with the videos of people playing the Guitar.

Promposals: Good idea to have promposals on the show. However, the editing was not very good. The music was on and off, and then it switched inconsistently between a live video and a photo. It should have been all videos or all photos.

Strike Segment: Too long. The interview dragged out way too long and I stopped listening very early on.

AAC Ad: Actually a very good ad. I liked the action shots to preview the show, and the background music was very upbeat.

Food Critic: Hilarious segment. The angle cuts were great, and I loved the humor in the segment.

Emoji of the Week: Good segment, but it is the same people in this segment every time.

Sports: Pretty choppy with no video segments.

I was in the show filming promposals and was an extra in Food Critic.

Episode 327

Hosts: Hosts were good. Jennifer and Patryk had reasonable and entertaining intros and transitions.

Ups and Downs: The idea was clever, the execution not so much. The multiple promposals and the conversation with Lydia and Ayyad made the show too choppy just cutting from scene to scene. Also, I did not like having the vote at the end, the audience should not be involved in a written show.

Unpopular Opinion: Very good and easy segment to do. It is a very good time eater, and a way to involve the audience.

Promposal: Another quick segment that was fun to watch and it involved something happening in the school. It is good to get school coverage sometimes instead of just creating content.

Musician of the Week: This was a bit boring. I understand reaching out to the music audience but it dragged on too much.

DubTV Drawing Ad: Very quick and effective ad, nice background music.

Sports: Sports was a bit choppy. The intro was funny and I thought the Boy's Tennis segment was decent.

Episode 326 Review

Segments

Opening Montage:  I preferred this opening montage. It was good to recognize the specialized services.

Hosts: The hosts were not as good this time. Their intro was a bit rushed, and they didn't seem all that confident in what they were saying.

Mr. Katz Interview: I think we should have kept this interview out. It's good to recognize Mr. Katz, but we already had someone else interview Mr. Katz in last week's episode. Also, the hosts had no intro to the interview.

DubTV Flashback: I always loved this segment in the past, and it was a good thing to bring back.

Girls Soccer Ad: The ad was relative but it didn't make much sense. Advertising for the girls game was necessary, but the context behind all the celebrations made no sense.

Sports: Sports was fine as usual this week. The information was accurate, but there was no footage or images until the special Olympics portion.

Senior Experience Interview: The interview was very good. I liked the backdrop of the lake, and the soft music was a nice touch. My only critique was that it could have been a bit shorter, the end drew out a bit too long.

Art Fair vs. Taste: I liked this segment a lot. I know it was used last year, but I think it was entertaining and applicable with the taste and art fair coming up soon.

Episode 325

Segments

Hosts: The hosts were pretty strong I would say. They were a bit awkward at times, but they enunciated and provided entertaining transitions between segments.

W.I.L AD: The ad was a pretty weak way to start the show. It wasn't exactly clear what was going on, other than the fact that there was a meeting. Also, the film quality was not very good with a small square on the screen.

Behind the Scenes: I really liked the Behind the scenes. The angle cuts in the filming were very well done, and I think it was great to have a behind the scenes so the audience can get a glimpse at how we do things.

DubTV Commercial: Very good commercial, it was short and entertaining. And it was a very easy way to move between segments.

Sports: Sports wasn't all that great. There was not as much video content, and the hosts were not all that entertaining.

Gender Equality Segment: A necessary segment I suppose. It was an important topic to address and the filming was well done. There was background music and

Powderpuff Ad: The ad was not good at all, but it was also not ours, so not much fault there. It was terrible film quality with a vertical phone, and it didn't really promote the whole Powderpuff Idea.

I was not on this show, but I was on the last show on Trixzzz Squad. This week I was filming our interview as well.

Episode 324 Review

Despite not being a show with new content, I thought this "Best of" Show was very good. I think gathering content from past years was a good idea.

I liked the re-showing of the Drill Sargent segment, the Jahlil commercial, and the fresh cuts. I also thought Greg and Alex did a good job hosting and transitioning between segments.

I did not like the repeat showing of the "bust" word of the week. I think it was out of date and the word itself implies an inappropriate meaning. Also, the commercials got a bit old after a while.

I was not in the show as I was filming for Trixzzz Squad.

Episode 322 Review

Episode 323 did not have much creative content, but I felt it had a very good flow to it. The segway between segments was strong mainly due to the hosts. I felt the hosts were informative and entertaining.

As I mentioned, the pros for the show were the transitions between segments. Early on, there was a commercial where everyone did the whip, then it cut into another segment. Also, the intro of Dr. Kenner was a great way to start the show, it grabs the attention right away. I also liked the Rent-a-Bae segment, but it didn't seem to really go anywhere. It was funny, but didn't conclude anything. And while not all that entertaining, the exchange student interview was well placed in the show.

As for cons, the show was not all that creative. It ran smoothly, but aside from Rent A Bae, there was not much else in the show. Sports was informative, but the editing was awful. The photos did not fit the screen, and it had multiple cuts while one person was talking. Also, there was no introduction to Dolphin code, nor an explanation as to what it was. The purpose of the segment was unclear. I really believe need to slow down on original content and start covering more things around the school. The only "news" part of the show is sports.

Episode 320 Review

I thought this week's show did a good job primarily because of the transitions. Since the show was filled primarily with ads and non DubTV content, the flow of the show seemed to work better. However, the ads and content were not unique, so the show lacked some creativity.

I thought August and Ryan were strong as hosts. They were easy to listen to and provided reasonable transistions between segments. I like the idea of keeping a rotation of hosts, as Ryan and August did well together. I also liked The Classroom and the fact that it was placed last in the show. Since the show did have too much creative content, finishing the show with a creative original piece was a good idea. I liked the Classroom plot, however I was not a big fan of the laugh track in the background.

For the cons of the show, as I mentioned, I did not like the fact that most of the show was filled with ads. I understand there is a need to put the ads in, but they should have been spread out. The show had ads for WY Progressive club, student survey, Fools poster, and essentially the ads for LSC selections. While it is necessary to have ads, they cannot be the prime part of the show. The four ads outnumbered the original content in the show.

I was not in this show, but I was filming for the next episode of Ups and Downs and Trixzzz Squad.

Episode 319 Review

This week's show was pretty good. I did not mind the fact that it was short, but I think there was not enough good content for a short show. Meaning a longer show might have masked the poor segments, but in a short show, the bad segments stand out and have the potential to make a bad show.

In this show, the good segments were at the beginning and end of the show. The Trixzzz Squad from Brazil was good. Although the shots were just normal, the segment was very upbeat and entertaining to start the show. Then, at the end of the show, I liked the "What Do You Know" segment. I believe this is one of the best parts of the show because people watching can follow along while they are entertained.

I did not particularly enjoy the remainder of the show. Like I said before, I think multiple Unpopular Opinions could be spread out or even combined into one segment. And finally, I was not a fan of "Lost in the Maze." It was interesting at the beginning, but it didn't go anywhere, and abruptly ended.

Episode 318 Review

Overall this show was not all that great. It was a bit slow and the content was not the best.

I did like The Classroom, I was very glad it was back. I think the actors in the show are pretty good and entertaining. I especially liked the crossover reference to Hallway Patrol, that was funny. Also, I was glad Ups and Downs was on the show this week. It wasn't the best episode but it was still good. The sound has some serious issues with different volumes on scenes. I also think Unpopular Opinion is a good idea, but it's so short that it was pointless. It's such an easy segment that if we get multiple opinions spread throughout the show, they would be great transitions.

I am very happy The Tutor is over. It was about time. I think the ending was disappointing because the whole show had a major setup to the winner, then the last show just decides to have a random plot change and ruin the whole concept. I also did not like the Black Arts Expo ad. There maybe should have been student performances from last year, or other symbols around the school. A montage of pop stars shows nothing about the event.

Best Of Show Review

I thought the "Best of" Show could have been a lot better. The segment choice was fine since everyone will disagree ok what is best. However, I think there was no clear distinction that this show was a highlight of the best segments. The hosts introduced that there wold be the best segments but after that there was no reference to the show being a "Best of" compilation.

Rest aside, the segments were pretty good. I think Hallway Patrol could have done the zombies as the best one, but other than that it was good.

I was in the show in the Bathroom Break and the Trixzzz Squad episode.

316 Review

This week's show was good. I was a fan of the opening segment Nickelodeon song contest. I think it is a strong segment overall. Obviously, I liked the Trixzzz Squad show once again. I also thought Ups and Downs was way better this week. The theme song was much improved.

I did not like the hosts (no offense). They were not entertaining and seemed unprepared.

I was in the show in the Trixzzz Squad and made an appearance in Upd and Downs.

Episode 315 Review

This week's show in my opinion was easily the best of the year. The intro was great, the transitions were great, and the segments were awesome.

The first X-Files segment was great, it was cool to see where the door led, and it was pretty entertaining as well. Then, the Trixzzz Squad was great as usual. The Hallway Patrol was amazing. Everything in it was perfect, especially the special effects. I also liked the script for Ups and Downs, but the music and film quality could be better. I think the lyrics in the theme song are good, but the song tune is not very good. Also, whoever edited the video messed up a key part; instead of cutting from face to face, the editing faded it, making it look like time had elapsed, but it was really the same scene. Finally, I liked the specialized service coffee ad, it was clever and definitely a good ad.

The two things I did not like were fortunately things that Dub TV did not make. I did not like the guitar coffeehouse ad since it was just too long. I also did not like the Orchestra ad at all. It was long and boring, and I felt like I was watching an infomercial.

Episode 314 Review

This week's show was not bad, but did not have very many highlights.

I think the best part of the show was definitely the 90's sitcom quiz. It was very entertaining to see who would get it right. It's also interactive because the audience watching can try to figure out the answers on their own. I liked the sports segment as well. The content is always great, and it helps to have visuals, but there still needs to be more enthusiasm and energy. Considering I say this every time, they will probably never change.

I was not really a fan of the Grab n' Go ad. I know we were required to do it, so I'm glad it's done. I also did not like The Tutor. The idea is fine, but it moves too slow, and there was no progression in the characters. The "Finish the Lyrics" was awful. Every time they do not even introduce the title of the song, and there is no "host" explaining how it works. And this time, there were not enough contestants and you could not hear the music.

Minor Details: The hosts were entertaining, but this show had very bad transitions between the segments. Also, the text on Coffeehouse Ad and credits moved way too fast.

313 Review

This Episode was not all that great. There was not much content in the show, and I thought the segments were not "highlights" but we're mini segments.

The part of the show I did like we're sports and ask an ackie. The content in sports was good, but the voices are a bit unenthusiastic. I also loved the ask an ackie, I thought it was funny and entertaining.

I did not like the tutor. It was too slow as always, and not to be rude, but I hope is ends soon.

I was not in this show because I was filming for Trixzzz Squad.

Episode 312 Review

Episode 312 was not one of the stronger ones. There was not enough content to make it interesting.

Obviously I thought the segment I was involved in, Trixzzz Squad was awesome. It was the best part of the show. I also thought sports had pretty good content again. Then, the hosts also were pretty entertaining and funny.

The rest of the show was thrown together. The X-Files was pretty pointless and didn't have much of an ending. The New Years's Resolution made sense, but the opinions ended up not very entertaining. The comments could almost be staged to make it more entertaining.
